Based in Montreal, I had the rare opportunity of traveling across Canada and the United States to photograph some of the most influential artists in rock history. Commissioned by record labels—including WEA, CBS(SONY) Capitol, MCA, and RCA, my assignments captured defining moments both on and off stage during a transformative era in popular music.
My images have been featured in more than 100 international publications, as well as on CDs, DVDs, and box sets, including three photographs in Bruce Springsteen: The Ties That Bind – The River Collection box set, plus record label websites, books, posters, concert programs, calendars, wine labels(AC/DC), gallery exhibitions, and record sleeves. Musicfoto’s photographs are widely licensed for editorial and commercial use, with primary clients including leading book and magazine publishers, record labels producing reissues and boxed sets, and tour merchandisers developing concert programs, apparel, and posters; past collaborations have included publications such as Rolling Stone and record and streaming companies including Sony Records, Nugs, CHOM Radio, and live‑entertainment partners like Live Nation.

My photography is objective, - it captures the nervous energy and visual pulse of rock music — the charged illusion crafted by the artist, revealing both performance and vulnerability.”
I was drawn to music long before I became a photographer. Attending concerts since 1970, I wanted to extend the experience beyond the final encore. Picking up a camera allowed me to do just that, first for friends, then professionally after a university acquaintance introduced me to CBS Records in 1977, leading to my first assignment.
In 1989, I transitioned from music photography to a career in advertising. This archive, and the custom prints now available, offer collectors and music fans an opportunity to own authentic photographs of rock and roll history. Many of these photographs have never been published or exhibited before.
Spanning more than 300 artists and 17 years of work, the collection preserves rare, electrifying moments that helped define rock’s visual legacy. I invite you to explore the gallery and experience the enduring spirit of that era through the lens of someone who was there.
At the heart of the photographic act lies a deep-seated desire to prolong and relive the instant portrayed.

Archival Pigment Printing Process
Archival Pigment prints are printed with archival pigment inks on archival Fine Art paper. They are produced from high resolution digital files and offer continuous tones, smooth transitions and a vibrant, true-to-life colour range. The process originated in the late 1980s and is respected by fine art experts, world-renowned galleries and passionate collectors. Since the inception of this process, technological advancements have led to higher resolution prints, highly archival pigments and inks, and a more environmentally-friendly print process.
Prints are produced on Hahnemuhle FineArt paper with matte and Baryta finishes.
Cropping of the final photograph may be slightly different than the images displayed on this site.
Due to varying screen resolutions, color profiles, brightness, contrast, and other display characteristics of monitors, these printed photographs may appear differently than their on‑screen versions.
